They easily make a unique bond with the whole family, also they get easily socialize with neighbor dogs and humans. It is a very playful dog breed. Actually, for the first time owner, it is a diamond breed as they require less care compare with other dog breeds such as German Shepherd or Golden Retriever (long hair breeds). Moreover, it is a very intelligent dog breed.
Nutrition and exercise
No doubt that labradors easily get along with everyone but don’t confuse his personality for low energy. The Lab is an enthusiastic dog that requires a lot of exercise, like swimming and games of fetch, to keep them fit physically and mentally. Regular exercise or walk helps them to maintain weight, otherwise, they get overweight. If they don’t get enough exercise, they will engage themselves in hyperactive work and/or they will show destructive behavior to use their energy. Give a balanced diet to your labra dog and don’t let them overeat as this is not good for your dog health. One simple thing to understand is if you want to make your dog healthy, give them high-quality dog food. Dog food is a balanced nutrition which a dog requires because in the case of homemade food you don’t know the proportion of nutrients available in that food. Moreover, try to note his/her calorie consumption in a day. If you have any concerns about your dog’s weight or diet, immediately check it with your vet. Clean water must be available at all times for your pet.
Give them baths occasionally to keep clean. Nails must be trimmed from time to time. Brush their teeth regularly. Their hairs need to be brushed, but as compared with long hair breeds they need less hair care. You need to check your dog’s ears weekly for redness or a bad odor, which can indicate an infection. While checking your dog, wipe their outer ear with a cotton ball to help prevent infections. Remember that you don’t insert anything inside their ear canal.
